Job summary

Dayou United Electronics (M) Sdn.Bhd. seeks a seasoned Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee operations in Port Klang, Malaysia and Batam, Indonesia. You will lead inventory control, import/export procedures, and customs coordination while building a robust multi-country warehouse system.

The role requires hands-on leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to travel monthly to Batam. You will implement standardized SOPs, ensure accurate records, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Previous experience in logistics, warehouse management, supply chain or import/export
• Strong inventory management and stock-counting skills
• Good knowledge of Excel or inventory management software
• Experience building warehouse management systems, inventory systems or SOPs is highly preferred
• Experience with Bonded Warehouses / Free Trade Zones is preferred
• Port logistics experience is an advantage
• Malaysia or Indonesia logistics experience is an advantage
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Able to work independently and solve operational problems
• Willing and able to travel to Batam, Indonesia at least once per month

Responsibilities

Hiring: Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Position: Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Primary Location: Port Klang West Port — Bonded Warehouse / Free Trade Zone, Malaysia

Management Scope:

Port Klang West Port Bonded Warehouse, Malaysia

Batam Warehouse, Indonesia

Gender: Male or Female

Employment: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, import/export procedures, customs coordination and logistics management for our facilities in Port Klang, Malaysia and Batam, Indonesia.

This is not simply a warehouse supervision position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building, implementing and continuously improving a professional warehouse, inventory and logistics management system covering both countries.

1. Working Schedule & Travel

Approximately six working days per week

Working arrangements will be based on operational requirements

At least one business trip to Batam, Indonesia every month

The main purpose of the monthly Batam visit is to inspect and verify:

Physical inventory

Cargo storage conditions

Receiving and dispatch records

Warehouse operations

Ensure that physical inventory and system records are properly reconciled

Submit an operational and inventory report after the Batam inspection

2. Warehouse Operations

Responsible for the daily operations of both warehouses:

Manage overall warehouse operations

Plan storage locations and warehouse space

Establish product classification, coding and labeling systems

Manage receiving, storage, picking, dispatch and transfers

Ensure goods are stored correctly

Monitor quantities, specifications, batches and product status

Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse

Establish standardized warehouse SOPs

Supervise and organize warehouse personnel

3. Inventory Management & System Development

One of the most important responsibilities is to establish and maintain a reliable inventory management system.

Responsibilities include:

Build accurate inventory records

Record quantities and movement dates

Record warehouse locations

Track receiving, dispatch, transfers and adjustments

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports

Conduct regular physical stock counts

Reconcile physical inventory with system records

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies

Establish minimum stock levels and inventory alerts

Standardize inventory management procedures between Malaysia and Indonesia

The ultimate objective is:

System Inventory = Physical Inventory = Logistics Documentation

If the existing inventory system is incomplete, the successful candidate will be expected to build the necessary procedures, forms, SOPs and data-management systems from the ground up.

4. Malaysia & Indonesia Warehouse Management

The manager will oversee both:

Responsibilities include:

Monitor inventory at both locations

Establish standardized inventory procedures

Manage receiving and dispatch

Track cargo in transit

Coordinate sea freight, trucking and warehouse operations

Conduct physical inventory checks

Visit Batam at least once every month

Submit regular inventory and warehouse operation reports

5. Customs & Import/Export Management

Coordinate import/export and customs-clearance activities:

Coordinate import and export shipments

Prepare and organize logistics documentation

Communicate with Customs authorities

Communicate with Customs Brokers

Follow up on customs declarations and clearance

Coordinate cargo release

Check Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists and Bills of Lading

Verify product descriptions, quantities and specifications

Coordinate customs inspections

Resolve customs-clearance issues

Track cargo from port to bonded warehouse

Ensure compliance with applicable customs and bonded-zone regulations

The manager should be able to coordinate effectively with:

Customs + Customs Brokers + Shipping Lines + Freight Forwarders + Trucking Companies + Warehouse Operators

Maintain a complete and traceable cargo process:

Every shipment must have complete and traceable documentation.

Responsibilities include:

Goods Receiving Notes

Dispatch / Delivery Notes

Stock Transfer Records

Packing Lists

Bills of Lading

Warehouse records

All documents must be accurate, organized and easy to retrieve.

7. Cargo Organization & Warehouse Control

Organize goods efficiently

Classify products by type, SKU and batch

Ensure goods can be located quickly

Manage loading and unloading

Manage high-value and sensitive cargo

Maintain proper storage conditions

Conduct regular warehouse inspections

Ensure safety and fire-prevention standards

8. Logistics & Transportation Coordination

Coordinate:

Trucking

Ports

Customs brokers

Bonded warehouses

Free Trade Zone operations

Track every shipment and proactively identify and resolve:

Delays, documentation errors, inventory discrepancies, cargo damage, customs issues and transportation problems.

Assign warehouse staff responsibilities

Establish and implement warehouse procedures

Train warehouse personnel

Monitor work quality

Manage outsourced warehouse workers

Manage logistics and transportation vendors

Manage customs brokers

Compare logistics service providers

Monitor warehouse and logistics costs

10. Reporting & Management

Goods received

Cargo in transit

Customs-clearance status

Shipping status

Warehouse operations

Logistics costs

Operational issues and solutions

The manager should be able to clearly report:

How much inventory we have, where the inventory is located, what cargo is currently in transit, what cargo is under customs clearance, and what actions are required next.

Requirements

Male or female candidates are welcome

Previous experience in logistics, warehouse management, supply chain or import/export

Practical warehouse management experience

Strong inventory management and stock-counting skills

Good understanding of receiving and dispatch procedures

Familiarity with import/export and customs-clearance procedures

Experience working with Customs, Customs Brokers or Freight Forwarders

Good knowledge of Excel or inventory management software

Experience building warehouse management systems, inventory systems or SOPs is highly preferred

Experience with Bonded Warehouses / Free Trade Zones is preferred

Port logistics experience is an advantage

Malaysia or Indonesia logistics experience is an advantage

Strong organizational and communication skills

Able to work independently and solve operational problems

Able to manage warehouse operations in two countries
