Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, setup, commissioning, and readiness of new warehouse facilities.
  • Develop layouts, storage strategies, material flow plans, and space utilization.
  • Manage consolidation projects, inventory relocation, and process integration.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics and Finance.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and operational standards; drive readiness for expansion.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy via cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor KPIs: inventory accuracy, turns, on-time delivery, efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain LMW records; liaise with customs, freight forwarders, and regulators.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards; drive Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading the establishment, consolidation, and management of warehouse operations to support business growth and operational efficiency. The role will oversee warehouse setup activities, inventory management, customs compliance, logistics coordination, material handling, and continuous process improvements.

The incumbent will play a critical role in the warehouse consolidation project, ensuring seamless integration of inventory, systems, processes, and resources while maintaining operational continuity. Strong knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations, Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) requirements, inventory control, and packaging standards for equipment and spare parts is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Setup & Consolidation
  • Lead the planning, setup, commissioning, and operational readiness of new warehouse facilities.
  • Develop warehouse layouts, storage strategies, material flow processes, and space utilization plans.
  • Manage warehouse consolidation projects, including inventory relocation, storage optimization, and process integration.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure successful warehouse transitions.
  • Establish warehouse policies, procedures, work instructions, and operational standards.
  • Drive warehouse readiness to support current and future business expansion.
Warehouse Operations Management
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, order fulfillment, and dispatch activities.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor warehouse performance through KPIs such as inventory accuracy, storage utilization, inventory turns, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize stock discrepancies, excess inventory, obsolescence, and material shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Customs & Regulatory Compliance
  • Manage compliance with Malaysian Customs regulations and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) requirements.
  • Oversee import and export documentation, customs declarations, duty exemptions, and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of LMW records and documentation to meet audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Customs authorities, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and government agencies on customs-related matters.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and ensure operational compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits relating to customs compliance and warehouse operations.
Inventory Control & Material Management
  • Establish inventory governance and best practices to ensure accurate inventory records and traceability.
  • Develop inventory planning and replenishment processes to support production and project requirements.
  • Monitor inventory movements and investigate discrepancies to ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Manage warehouse systems, inventory transactions, and master data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Planning teams to optimize inventory levels while maintaining service requirements.
Equipment & Spare Parts Packaging Management
  • Establish packaging standards and storage requirements for industrial equipment, machinery components, and critical spare parts.
  • Ensure appropriate preservation, labeling, packing, and handling methods are implemented to prevent material deterioration and transit damage.
  • Coordinate packaging requirements for domestic and international shipments.
  • Develop packaging solutions that comply with customer specifications, transportation requirements, and export regulations.
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive, high-value, oversized, and project-based materials.
Logistics & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Logistics providers, and Customers to support operational requirements.
  • Manage third-party logistics, warehousing contractors, and transportation providers.
  • Resolve operational issues relating to inventory availability, material movements, shipment delays, and warehouse capacity constraints.
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments during warehouse consolidation and improvement initiatives.
  • Lead regular operational reviews to improve warehouse performance and customer service levels.
  • Drive warehouse process improvements to enhance productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for warehouse automation, digitalization, and system enhancements.
  • Support ERP/WMS implementation, process standardization, and inventory management improvements.
  • Develop and monitor warehouse KPIs and performance dashboards.
  • Lead Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience establishing new warehouse facilities or leading warehouse consolidation projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience managing Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) operations and customs compliance requirements.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, engineering, project-based, or fabrication industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP, WMS, inventory management systems, and warehouse automation solutions is an advantage.
