We are seeking a professional and personable Waiter/Waitress to join the team at SW Wine Depot SDN BHD in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for ensuring that every interaction with our customers reflects our commitment to excellence and hospitality. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards that define our establishment and contribute directly to customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key responsibilities

Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them at appropriate tables in accordance with dining room procedures

Presenting menus and providing knowledgeable recommendations regarding food and beverage options, particularly our wine selections

Taking accurate food and drink orders from customers and conveying them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff

Serving food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring correct items are delivered to the correct guests

Maintaining thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens and preparation methods to answer customer questions accurately

Clearing plates and glasses efficiently whilst maintaining table cleanliness throughout the meal service

Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions with accuracy and integrity

Responding promptly and courteously to customer requests and addressing any concerns or complaints professionally

Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and appearance at all times

Assisting with restaurant setup and breakdown procedures, including table preparation and cleaning duties

Collaborating effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders and colleagues to ensure smooth service operations

What we’re looking for

Previous experience working as a waiter, waitress or in a similar customer-facing hospitality role

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse clientele

Excellent attention to detail, particularly when taking orders and serving food and beverages

Ability to remain calm, organised and efficient during busy service periods

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness

Physical capability to stand for extended periods, carry trays and move about the restaurant environment

Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and hospitality

Basic numeracy skills for processing transactions accurately

Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is desirable but not essential

Knowledge of wines and beverages is an advantage in our establishment
