Job summary

瀾華 Vanda Exquisite Chinese Cuisine in Kuala Lumpur is seeking energetic Waiters and Waitresses to join the front-of-house team. You will greet guests, guide them to tables, take orders, upsell, and ensure timely delivery of dishes in a refined dining setting at Solaris Dutamas.

The role requires excellent customer service, good Bahasa Malaysia and English, and ideally Mandarin. Fresh graduates with a strong service mindset are encouraged, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred in F&B, cafe, or retail; fresh SPM leavers with training encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin a plus.
• Mandatory: Typhoid vaccination certificate and Food Handler Course or willing to obtain before employment.
• Strong customer service, friendly demeanor, neat grooming, passion for hospitality.
• Ability to stand for long hours and work in a high-volume restaurant.
• Rotating 6-day work week including weekends and public holidays.

Job description

We are seeking energetic, customer-oriented Waiters and Waitress (Service Crew) to join our front-of-house team in Kuala Lumpur. As the face of our restaurant, you will ensure every guest enjoys a warm, seamless, and memorable dining experience through attentive service, menu guidance, and efficient table management.

Key responsibilities

Guest Greeting & Seating: Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, guide them to their tables, present menus, and introduce daily food or beverage specials.

Order Taking & Upselling: Guide diners through our menu options (including highlighting pork-free/dietary options), take accurate food and drink orders, and suggest pairings or popular dishes.

POS System Entry: Accurately enter orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system and relay special dietary requests or modifications directly to the kitchen and bar team.

Food & Beverage Service: Deliver food dishes and drinks promptly from the kitchen/bar to tables while ensuring presentation standards are met.

Table Maintenance: Perform regular check-ins during meals, attend to guest requests (water refills, extra cutlery, condiments), and clear empty plates and glassware efficiently ("bussing").

Billing & Payments: Prepare correct dining bills, process cash, card, or e-wallet transactions, and handle POS terminal operations at table-side or payment counters.

Station Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, service stations, and cashier area before, during, and after operational shifts.

Guest Feedback Handling: Respond promptly to guest concerns or complaints with a positive attitude, escalating to the Service Manager or Supervisor when necessary.

About you

Experience: Prior experience as a Waiter, Waitress, or Service Crew member in an F&B, cafe, or retail environment is preferred. Fresh SPM leavers and entry-level candidates with a strong service mindset are encouraged to apply (full on-the-job training provided).

Language Proficiency: Conversational Bahasa Malaysia and English to communicate with diverse local and international diners. Fluency or basic knowledge of Mandarin is an added advantage.

Mandatory Requirements: Valid Typhoid Vaccination certificate and completion of the Food Handler Course (or willingness to obtain them prior to employment).

Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication skills, friendly demeanor, neat personal grooming, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stay on your feet for long hours, maintain energy in a high-volume restaurant environment, and carry service trays safely.
