Job summary

Rocana Hotel in Kuantan, Malaysia seeks a Front Office Assistant to greet guests, handle check-ins/check-outs, manage room status, assist VIP guests, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth service. You will work on-site to deliver attentive hospitality and maintain accurate room knowledge and rates.

You will be expected to follow the duty roster, participate in on-the-job training, handle inquiries and complaints professionally, and ensure a welcoming, well-organized front desk

Responsibilities

• To assign rooms according to guest requirements
• To check daily guest arrival and departure list
• To update room status hourly as per the Housekeeping report
• To receive and assist VIP guests in their registration upon check in
• To greet waiting guests during check-in and check-out and offer assistance to avoid any delays
• To arrange guest amenities to be delivered to VIP guests
• To ensure that all group master folios are checked daily for their accuracy
• To ensure attendance at work is per the duty roster and be punctual for arrival at the workstation at least 5 minutes early
• To attend to all on the job training sessions
• To report any irregularities to the FOS / FOE immediately
• To prepare the daily reports accordingly as per the overnight shift requirements and coordinate with another department where required
• To be able to handle guests’ inquiries, requests and complaints in a professional manner
• To be very familiar with the various types of rooms, their locations and the respective rates
• To perform other duties set by the Company or its direct superiors which are not in the job description in emergency circumstances
• To keep all building premises and related working areas in clean and safe condition constantly
• Constantly comply with hotel policies, procedures, rules and regulations
