Job summary

GOOD GEAR SOLUTION (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Valves Maintenance Technician in Pasir Gudang, Johor, to join our on-site team and ensure valve systems operate at peak efficiency.

This full-time role requires performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, disassembling and repairing valves, and maintaining detailed records while collaborating with the maintenance team. You will work on-site, follow health and safety regulations, and contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably with valve systems or fluid control equipment.
• Strong understanding of valve types, operations, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on valve systems and related equipment.

About the role

GOOD GEAR SOLUTION (M) SDN. BHD. (1688782-D). is seeking a Valves Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our valve systems and equipment. As a Valves Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all valve installations operate at peak efficiency, minimizing downtime and maximizing the reliability of our operations. This position is integral to our maintenance operations and directly contributes to the safety and productivity of our facilities.

What you'll be doing

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on valve systems and related equipment

Diagnose and troubleshoot valve malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions

Disassemble, repair, and reassemble valves according to manufacturer specifications and technical drawings

Test valves using appropriate equipment to ensure they meet performance standards and safety requirements

Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records of all work performed

Replace worn or damaged valve components with new parts as needed

Collaborate with other maintenance team members to coordinate repairs and installations

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies whilst working on-site

Support emergency repairs and respond to equipment failures with urgency

Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding maintenance status, material needs, and any technical concerns

What we’re looking for

Proven experience working as a maintenance technician, ideally with specialisation in valve systems or fluid control equipment

Strong understanding of valve types, operations, and maintenance procedures

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment commonly used in valve maintenance

Sound knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to maintenance work

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records

Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting and working at heights when required

Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in maintenance or mechanical engineering are preferred

Experience with preventive maintenance programmes is advantageous
