Job summary

KL-Kepong Edible Oils Sdn Bhd in Pasir Gudang, Johor is seeking a hands-on Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support our plant operations, ensuring safety, reliability and minimal downtime. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues, read diagrams, and work with Mechanical, Maintenance and Production teams to keep the line running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned daily preventive maintenance to keep machinery in optimal condition.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical and instrumentation issues including electrical, pneumatic systems, motors, PLC and SCADA.
• Identify equipment faults and perform timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety rules, safe work procedures, and established company requirements.
• Work with Mechanical, Maintenance and Production teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure tools and work areas are safe.

Job description

Be part of our maintenance team and keep our production running safely, efficiently, and reliably. We are looking for a hands‑on and technically skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support our plant operations in Pasir Gudang.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned daily preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure machinery and equipment remain in optimal operating condition.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify electrical and instrumentation issues involving electrical systems, pneumatic systems, motors, electronic components, PLC and SCADA systems.

Identify equipment faults and perform timely corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain smooth production operations.

Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety rules, safe work procedures, and established company requirements, especially when working around operating machinery.

Work closely with Mechanical, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless plant operation.

Maintain good housekeeping and ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept in a safe and proper condition.

Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by the superior.

What We're Looking For

Possess a Wireman Certificate in Electrical (e.g. PW4) or Diploma in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering.

Good working knowledge of pneumatic systems and PLC.

Able to read and understand electrical diagrams, schematics, and hard wiring.

1–3 years of working experience in a palm oil refining environment will be an advantage.

Practical, hands‑on approach with good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Willing to work in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
