Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of relevant working experience.
• Willing to work in Butterworth.
• Familiar with motors, pumps, sensors, PLC, welding, and related components.
• Bahasa Malaysia and English proficiency.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service mechanical and electrical systems.
• Monitor performance and analyze data to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Job description

1. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and carrying out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on plant machinery and equipment to ensure reliable operation and minimize unplanned downtime.

2. Perform troubleshooting, inspection, servicing, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and other equipment-related systems.

3. Monitor machinery performance and identify potential equipment failures through regular inspection, condition monitoring, and analysis of maintenance records.

4. Develop and maintain an effective preventive maintenance schedule covering routine inspection, lubrication, servicing, calibration, overhauling, and replacement of critical components.

5. Diagnose machinery breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective actions and root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring equipment failures.

6. Manage and maintain an adequate inventory of machinery spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials, including preparing requisitions based on equipment requirements and usage.

7. Coordinate with technicians, production personnel, contractors, and relevant departments to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within the required timeframe.

8. Monitor and record machine downtime, breakdown history, maintenance activities, and repair records, and prepare reports for the maintenance Manager.

9. Analyse maintenance and equipment performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, increased machine reliability, reduced downtime, and improved maintenance efficiency.

10. Ensure that all machinery and maintenance activities comply with company safety procedures, statutory requirements, and relevant engineering standards.

11. Assist in the installation, commissioning, modification, upgrading, and improvement of new and existing plant machinery and equipment.

12. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend suitable engineering improvements, modifications, or replacement of components to improve machine reliability and operational efficiency.

13. Assist in planning daily maintenance activities based on machine operating conditions, production requirements, manpower availability, spare parts, and required resources.

14. Ensure proper implementation of maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety practices during all maintenance activities.

15. Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure that all tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance areas are properly organised, maintained, and safely stored.

16. Ensure that maintenance activities and procedures comply with applicable quality, food safety, and management system requirements, including ISO, HACCP and other relevant standards.

17. Participate in continuous improvement, preventive maintenance, and engineering projects to improve equipment availability, reliability, productivity, and overall plant performance.

18. Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance technicians and assist in training team members on proper maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety requirements.

19. Take ownership of maintenance-related issues and ensure that equipment failures and non-conformances are investigated, properly addressed, and effectively resolved.

20. Perform any other duties, responsibilities, or engineering assignments as may be delegated by the Maintenance Manager or other authorised superior from time to time.

In addition to the defined roles stipulated as above, this position is also responsible for any other assignments which will be delegated to him/her from his/her superior(s) from time to time

Requirements:

Degree/Diploma, in Mechanical/Mechatronics/ Electrical or equivalent and have high technical skill.

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English

At least 1-3 year(s) of working experience in the related field

Applicants must be willing to work in Butterworth

Preferably a person specializing in Maintenance/Repair (Facilities & Machinery) or equivalent

Familiar with motor, pumps, electronic parts, sensor, PLC, welding skill and mechanical setting.
