Job summary

TASCO Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a logistics tender specialist to analyse RFQ/RFP/ITT documents, understand client needs, and design cost-effective freight and warehousing solutions.

You will work with operations, transport planning, and finance to price bids, prepare technical proposals, present to clients, and ensure a smooth handover to the implementation team while capturing lessons from any lost tenders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years in logistics operations, transport planning, or supply chain analysis, with bidding/tendering experience.
• Exceptional Excel/data modeling skills for complex costing.
• Strong understanding of P&L, and pricing strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for proposals and presentations.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.

Job description

Client & Requirement Analysis: Analyse the Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), or Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents. Understand the client's business and the specific logistic needs (transport, warehousing)

2. Costing

Collaborate with operations, transport planning teams to design the optimal logistics solution.

Route optimization (for freight, road, sea, air).

Warehouse layout and process design.

Calculate Operational Costs

Apply Pricing Strategy: Work with sales/finance to apply the correct margin, understand market rates, and structure competitive yet profitable pricing (e.g., per pallet, per kg, fixed fee, activity-based).

3. Proposal Development & Submission

Company credentials, case studies, and differentiators.

Contract Handover: Upon winning the tender, manage the smooth handover from the bidding team to the implementation/project management team. Ensure all assumptions, pricing models, and SOPs are clearly communicated.

Loss Analysis: For lost tenders, conduct a post-mortem analysis to understand reasons for loss (price, solution, fit) and derive lessons learned for future bids.

Key Skills & Qualifications Required:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

Experience: 3-5+ years in logistics operations, transport planning, or supply chain analysis, with direct experience in bidding/tendering.

Analytical Skills: Exceptional Excel/data modeling skills for complex costing.

Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L, and pricing strategies.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for proposal writing and presentations.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
