Job summary

redONE Network is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer based in Johor Bahru to support OSP maintenance, fiber network operations, and DC telecom environments. You will coordinate planned and emergency works, supervise vendors, manage PTW submissions, and maintain accurate documentation for service continuity.

Qualifications include a Diploma/Degree in Telecommunications or related field, 2–5 years in telecoms, and FOA/CFOT certification preferred.

Job description

The role outcome is to maintain reliable telecom connectivity across data center and OSP environments by ensuring that planned works, emergency restoration, vendor execution, PTW control, and operational documentation are completed safely, accurately, and within agreed service timelines.

The Telecoms Engineer is responsible for supporting Data Center (DC) operations with a focus on Outside Plant (OSP) maintenance, fiber network operations, and the operational interface between Remote Hands Services (RHS) and Enterprise Support. The role ensures the availability, reliability, and operational integrity of telecom infrastructure, customer connectivity services, fiber optic networks, and associated DC telecom environments.

The engineer will coordinate planned and emergency works, supervise vendors and contractors, manage Permit-To-Work (PTW) submissions and closures, maintain accurate documentation, and support customer service requests in accordance with operational and safety requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

Maintain OSP fiber infrastructure and ensure service continuity.

Ensure vendors execute work safely, correctly, and in line with requirements.

Ensure planned and emergency works are properly approved, tracked, and closed.

Support hands-on activities inside data centers and telecom spaces.

Support customer service requests and operational continuity.

Qualifications Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

2 to 5 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, data center operations, remote hands services, managed services or enterprise support.

Fiber optic certification such as FOA / CFOT is preferred.

Confined Space, Work-at-Height, First Aid, safety supervisor or equivalent site safety certifications are advantageous.

Valid driving licenses are advantageous for field maintenance and emergency response works.
