Job summary

C&W SERVICES (S) PTE. LTD. seeks a Network Operations Lead to supervise data centre network activities in Johor Bahru. You will oversee fiber deployment, troubleshoot outages, and ensure strict adherence to SOPs while coordinating multiple sites and vendors on a 24/7 basis.

The role requires hands-on experience with telecom testing tools, splicing knowledge, and the ability to respond promptly to incidents, coordinating across teams and vendors to maintain uptime.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience preferably in Data Centre or Critical infrastructure industry.
• Team supervisory experience of a team operating 24/7 is required.
• Understanding of splicing, and an understanding of how to maintain and operate within a manhole, vault, or handhole environment.
• Knowledge of telecommunications testing equipment from microscopes and power meters to OTDRs.
• Industry standard certifications are advantageous.

• Monitor and provide feedback on high-risk telecom activities along diverse dark fiber routes.

• Coordinate onsite project work progress across multiple locations to keep vendors on track.

Network Operations Lead (Data Centre, Johor)

Supervise and feedback Telecom dark fiber deployment progress at Data center campus ingress

Supervise and feedback Telecom troubleshooting progress at remote relay/OLA / fiber break location

Monitor and feedbackhigh riskactivity along Telecom's diverse darkfiber ,Externalbuildingand internal building fiber route todatahall

Monitor and feedback ISP service provider system commissioning progress

Supervise and feedback daily onsite project work progress across multiple project locations

Ensure vendor's work isontrackwithin project schedule

Ensure onsite project risk and issues are feedback regularly to stakeholders

Ensure strict adherence and compliance of onsite work to network internal SOP/ technical standards

Provide regular reporting on progress asrequired(move, change, supportrequest )and develop continuous improvement capabilities

Coordinate related administrative matters to ensure vendor's smooth entry into site for work

Ensure onsite project risk has been highlighted promptly and execution of solution

Participate in various site surveys and pre-work toestablisha clear project work plan

Provide onsite support during scheduled maintenance / change events

Supervise and feedback site progress during networkhigh riskactivity, vendor working in SC room

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and connectivity issuesin a timely manner.

Conduct network preventive inspections to reduce downtime and operational risks.

Monitor and respond promptly to network alerts and incidents and provide first responseaccurateupdate

Oversee day-to-day network operationsonsite ,ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.

Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs).

Support and lead small-to-large scale projects, including migrations and expansions.

Responsible for setting up the network remote working environment.

Conduct on-site upgrade work for the switch / debugging work.

Assistin troubleshooting optical cable faults.

Assistnetwork engineers in troubleshooting network faults anddeterminingthe root cause.

Oversee and supervise vendors working in livesupercorenetwork data hall.

On-site management of network decommissioningproject.

Requirements:

3 years of experience preferably in Data Centre or Critical infrastructure industry

Team supervisory experience of a team operating 24/7 is required

Understanding of splicing, and an understanding of how to maintain and operate within a manhole, vault, or handhole environment.

Knowledge of telecommunications testing equipment from microscopes and power meters to OTDRs.

Knowledge of telecommunications testing standards and procedures from length, wire-mapping and bit error rate to power, delay, loss, reflectance and dispersion.

Industry standard certifications are advantageous.

Flexibility to support after office hours during incident

Willingness to travel across multiple sites (up to40-50kmapart)
