To provide technical support for the maintenance, operation, and reliability of Gas Malaysia's electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building facilities. The role is responsible for ensuring facilities and M&E systems are safely, efficiently, and reliably maintained through preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, while supporting ongoing projects and compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspection, preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building facilities across Gas Malaysia offices and stations.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, minor rectification, and maintenance works to ensure facilities and M&E systems remain safe, reliable and operational.
- Support competent persons and chargemen in the operation, maintenance and monitoring of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Monitor and coordinate contractors to ensure maintenance and repair works meet required quality, timelines, safety standards and company specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards, statutory requirements, site safety procedures and local authority regulations.
- Read, interpret, and prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), technical drawings and other relevant technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, documentation, and filing related to facilities and M&E activities.
- Support the management and monitoring of building systems, including HVAC, electrical DBs, sump pumps, ELV systems and other related facilities equipment.
- Assist in the management of Scheduled Waste (SW) and ensure proper handling and disposal in accordance with applicable environmental requirements.
- Monitor and track utility consumption and bills, including electricity, water, solar, and Indah Water for Gas Malaysia facilities.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support for ongoing and future facilities improvement and development projects.
- Support technical scoping, assessment, evaluation, and price agreement development for maintenance and facilities-related works.
- Maintain and update asset and maintenance data to support predictive maintenance initiatives and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and provide technical assistance during breakdowns, after office hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Promote a safe working environment and support continuous improvement in facilities maintenance, asset reliability, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma or Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, with a valid PW4 Wireman Certificate registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and facilities management, preferably in office buildings, warehouses, or stations.
- Good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, ELV, and building systems, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, local authority regulations, and safety standards, including relevant Suruhanjaya Tenaga, DOSH, and DOE requirements.
- Able to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and technical drawings; proficiency in Microsoft Office, with AutoCAD knowledge as an added advantage.
- Good communication, teamwork, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
