Job summary

Oryx Advanced Materials Sdn Bhd is seeking a Facilities Technician to support maintenance and operation across all plant systems in Bayan Lepas, Penang. You will assist engineers with supervision, monitoring, and project improvements, ensuring on-time delivery and safe operations.

The role requires a Diploma/Certificate in Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years' experience in facilities maintenance.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years' facilities maintenance & operation experience.
• Proficient in electrical systems and reading electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of facilities system operations and maintenance.
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in supervision and monitoring of all facilities systems operations including ACMV, air compressor, DI water plant, effluent treatment plant, etching line, dust collectors, electrical systems, gas supply and other equipment.
• Assist engineers in improvement projects for the entire plant facilities systems.
• Supervise renovation, upgrading and equipment hookup installation work progress and ensure on-time delivery as per contract requirements; coordinate all facility projects implementation.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns promptly; work outside normal hours in urgent cases if required.
• Assist engineers in handling scheduled wastes disposal and inventory records.
• Ensure all tools, equipment, consumables and spare parts are properly stored, cleaned and handled based on First-in-First-out basis; ensure compliance with HSE requirements.

To ensure preventive maintenance activities & update maintenance checklist for all facilities systems which have been carried out according to schedule as routine job.

To assist engineers in supervision & monitoring of all facilities systems operations which include ACMV system (Air Conditioning Mechanical & Ventilation), air compressor system, DI water plant, industrial effluent treatment plant, etching line, dust collector systems, electrical systems, gas supply systems & other equipment.

To assist engineers in any improvement projects for entire plant facilities systems.

To assist engineers in supervising renovation, upgrading & equipment hook up installation work progress and ensure on-time delivery as per contract requirements. To co-ordinate all facility projects implementation.

To troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns promptly. Under urgent cases, the technician shall be required to work outside normal hours.

To assist engineers in handling scheduled wastes disposal and inventory records.

To ensure all tools, equipment, consumable items and spare parts are properly stored, cleaned and handled based on First-in-First-out basis.

To ensure the facilities system and working environment are compliant with HSE requirements.

Requirements

Diploma/Certificate in Engineering/Mechanical/Mechatronic/Electromechanical/Electrical/Civil/Industrial or its equivalent, with at least 2 years' working experience in facilities maintenance & operation.

Well exposed in electrical system & able to read electrical circuit diagram and equipment fault troubleshooting.

Good understanding and exposure of facilities system operations and maintenance.

Able to perform duties in a safe manner with minimum supervision.
