About the role

We are seeking a skilled Technician – Mechanical & Electrical to join our dynamic team at UDA Facility Management in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to work on diverse mechanical and electrical systems within commercial and industrial facilities. You will play a vital role in maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring operational continuity, and supporting our clients' business objectives through reliable and professional technical service delivery. This role requires a proactive professional with strong technical expertise and a commitment to excellence in facility maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems including HVAC units, pumps, compressors, and related equipment
• Conducting electrical maintenance and repairs on distribution boards, lighting systems, power supplies, and electrical installations in compliance with safety regulations
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime and disruption to facility operations
• Carrying out preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all systems operate efficiently and safely
• Installing, commissioning, and testing new mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
• Maintaining detailed maintenance records, work logs, and documentation of all performed tasks and findings
• Liaising with clients and reporting on the condition and performance of facility systems
• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies at all times
• Supporting emergency response situations and providing out-of-hours support when required
• Collaborating with team members and other contractors to ensure smooth facility operations

What we’re looking for

• A recognised qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline (such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent)
• Proven experience working as a technician in mechanical and electrical maintenance, ideally within facility management, building services, or industrial environments
• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems
• Competent understanding of electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, and safety protocols
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic testing equipment
• Valid relevant certifications such as PAT testing, confined space entry, or electrical competency certificates (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to health and safety standards and best working practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Current driving license (preferred)
