Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Ipoh, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Engineer – Facility Operations & Management (Mechanical/Electrical) to lead safe, efficient operation and maintenance of M&E facility systems in line with standards and company requirements.

You will monitor HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, UPS, and fire protection systems; supervise PM/CM/Predictive maintenance; coordinate contractors and ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP and other authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years in building maintenance or facilities management preferred.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, electrical, pumps, fire protection).
• Strong communication and coordination with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily operations of M&E systems (HVAC, electrical, generators, UPS).
• Ensure continuity and reliability of critical power and utilities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Plan and supervise PM, CM, and Predictive Maintenance activities.
• Supervise M&E contractors and ensure work meets specs, SLA, schedule, safety and quality.
• Monitor vendor performance and outsourced maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA and OSH standards.
• Identify energy-saving initiatives to reduce operating costs.

Senior Engineer – Facility Operations & Management (Mechanical/Electrical)

Responsible for leading, supervising, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and management of mechanical and electrical (M&E) facility systems in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

Monitor daily operations of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, UPS, fire protection systems, pumps, and other related systems.

Ensure continuity and reliability of critical power and utility supplies.

Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.

Plan and supervise Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Predictive Maintenance activities.

Ensure critical equipment and systems remain in optimal operating condition.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement corrective measures.

Supervise M&E contractors and ensure work is completed according to specifications, SLA, schedule, safety, and quality requirements.

Monitor vendor performance and manage outsourced maintenance activities.

Ensure facility operations comply with relevant requirements from DOSH/JKKP, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA, Occupational Safety and Health requirements, and applicable technical standards.

Monitor electricity and utility consumption and identify energy-saving initiatives to improve facility efficiency and reduce operating costs.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Electrical Engineering.

3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, property management, construction or related civil engineering works.

Experience in building maintenance operations is preferred.

Good knowledge of civil/building defects, repair methods and construction materials.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Experience in contractor supervision and maintenance coordination.

Good communication, reporting and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and manage multiple maintenance activities.

Willing to attend emergency breakdowns or after-hours work when required.
