Job summary

The role collaborates with internal engineers to ensure top-notch customer service and adherence to industry standards.

The candidate will perform on-site and remote support, handle documentation, and participate in upgrades while traveling locally and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and commission equipment at customer sites.

Job description

Technical support engineer is part of the Operations function, as engineer in the technical service engineering team, responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining equipment, primarily automated high precision fluid dispensing machines, at customer sites globally. Additionally, the role involves working closely with customers to ensure requirements are met, while collaborating with internal manufacturing and product development engineers to deliver great customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, calibration, and commissioning of equipment at customer site
• Provide on-site and remote technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for automated machines
• Conduct system diagnostics and repairs for mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
• Deliver technical training and equipment handover sessions to end-users and customer engineering teams
• Support machine upgrades, modifications, and retrofits to meet customer requirements
• Respond promptly to customer service requests and support escalations
• Monitor equipment performance, analyse data and recommend preventive maintenance plans
• Ensure accurate documentation of service reports, maintenance logs, and customer feedback
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve root cause of recurring field issues and drive improvements
• Manage warranty, maintenance and support contracts with customers

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in field service, equipment installation, or machine technical support—preferably in semiconductor, electronics, or automation industries
• Knowledge of electromechanical systems, PLC/software interfaces, and pneumatic components
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and service manuals
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-oriented mindset
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally, sometimes on short notice
• Basic computer system configuration or programming experience
• Knowledgeable in industry standards and regulations (e.g. IEEE, IEC, SMEMA, HERMES)
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
