Job summary

Genetec Technology Berhad is seeking a Sales & Application Engineer (Mechanical) to develop new business opportunities, understand customer needs, and propose automation solutions in the manufacturing sector. You will bridge customers with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and growth.

The role requires a mechanical/E&electrical background, strong communication, and the ability to travel locally and internationally to support projects and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new customers and business opportunities.
• Understand customer requirements and propose automation and engineering solutions.

• Conduct technical presentations and solution demonstrations to customers.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and provide after-sales support.
• Coordinate with D&D, PM, SQE, and Procurement to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support project kick-off meetings and provide technical clarifications.
• Monitor project schedules and provide progress updates.
• Identify project risks and assist with mitigation plans.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and change orders.
• Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams.

Sales & Application Engineer (Mechanical)

The Sales & Application Engineer is responsible for developing new business opportunities, understanding customer requirements, proposing technical solutions, and supporting project execution within the automation manufacturing industry. The role acts as a bridge between customers and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction, successful project delivery, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new customers and business opportunities.

Understand customer requirements and propose suitable automation and engineering solutions.

Prepare technical proposals, quotations, cost estimates, RFQs, RFIs, and tender submissions.

Conduct technical presentations and solution demonstrations to customers.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships while providing after-sales support.

Coordinate with Design & Development (D&D), Project Management (PM), Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), and Procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Support project kick‑off meetings and provide technical clarifications throughout project implementation.

Monitor assigned project schedules and provide accurate progress updates.

Identify project risks and support the implementation of mitigation plans.

Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, technical proposals, and change orders.

Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams.

Continuously monitor industry trends, customer needs, and market developments to support business growth.

Travel locally and internationally as required for business and project activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
