Computer Land Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a System Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, implement, and maintain client IT infrastructure. The role focuses on reliability, security, and performance of networks and systems to support client operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years hands-on system/network administration or system engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server/Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with network administration: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall configurations.
• Proficiency with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Solid understanding of system security, access controls, encryption and threat mitigation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL is desirable; relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA) advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; attention to detail and documentation.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated System Engineer to join Computer Land Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining client IT infrastructure and systems. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of client network and system environments. This role is integral to supporting client business operations and enabling clients organisation to deliver excellence to our clients and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

Design, deploy and maintain network and systems infrastructure to meet organisational requirements

Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for optimisation and improvement

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to networks, servers, and system components

Implement and maintain security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices

Perform system upgrades, patches and updates whilst minimising downtime and operational disruption

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

3-5 years of hands‑on experience in system administration, network administration, or system engineering roles

Strong knowledge of server operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or Unix environments

Experience with network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and firewall configuration

Proficiency in virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V or similar platforms

Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

Strong understanding of system security principles, including user access controls, encryption and threat mitigation

Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues

Knowledge of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL is highly desirable

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Associate or Cisco CCNA are advantageous

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation
