Job summary

Computer Land Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a System Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, implement, and maintain client IT infrastructure. The role focuses on reliability, security, and performance of networks and systems to support client operations.

You will design, deploy and maintain infrastructure, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues while applying security best practices. The position offers growth, training opportunities and a collaborative environment in a fast-evolving ICT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years hands-on system/network administration or system engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server/Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with network administration: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall configurations.
• Proficiency with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Solid understanding of system security, access controls, encryption and threat mitigation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL is desirable; relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA) advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; attention to detail and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain network and systems infrastructure to meet organisational requirements.
• Monitor system performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to networks, servers and system components.
• Implement and maintain security protocols and ensure industry-standard compliance.
• Perform system upgrades and patches with minimal downtime.
• Document configurations, procedures and changes for accuracy.
• Collaborate with client IT teams and stakeholders on technology projects.
• Provide technical guidance to end-users and junior staff.
• Conduct capacity planning and recommend infrastructure enhancements.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
