The System Analyst manages the bridge between business needs and technical implementation across the full SDLC and Agile Development. In this role, you will work closely with Business Analysts, UI/UX, Developers, QA, Operations, and Support teams from requirement elicitation to solution validation, UAT, and deployment support.
Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis & Solution Definition
- Analyse business requirements gathered by BAs and stakeholders to identify system impacts, dependencies, risks, and feasibility.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications, including API/Data Process flows, data mappings, validation rules, and Support Guides (BCP, Table-Top).
- Functional & Technical Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation for integration touchpoints (internal and external systems) and non-functional requirements (performance, security, auditability) using standard templates.
- Ensure Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), Use Cases, and Test Scenarios align with project objectives.
- Agree on clear user journeys and exceptional workflows before UI/UX design.
- Work closely with software developers to clarify requirements, answer technical questions, validate proposed solutions, participate in design discussions, and ensure systems meet architectural standards.
- Testing & Solution Validation
- Support test planning by defining test scenarios, cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Actively support UAT by clarifying outcomes, assisting users in defect validation, analysing root causes, and verifying solutions before sign-off.
- Implementation & Post-Go-Live Support
- Assist in deployment activities, release validation, and post-implementation checks.
- Support the transition to Operations and Support teams via functional walkthroughs, user guides, knowledge transfers, and Table-top Exercises.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as a key liaison between business users, IT teams, vendors, and support teams.
- Facilitate requirement clarification sessions and communicate professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders remotely and onsite.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst, Application Analyst, or Developer with proven project management exposure.
- Experience in retail, payments, POS, or enterprise systems (Preferred).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and cloud platforms (Preferred).
- Vendor management and project leadership experience (Preferred).
- Strong foundation in SQL & NoSQL databases, programming logic, APIs, system architecture concepts, and cloud fundamentals.
