Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related; MBA/MS in HRM desirable.
• 7–10 years in HR management, with 3–5 years in a senior/managerial capacity.
• Experience in higher education or complex organisational environments preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian employment law, labour regulations and statutory requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations.
• Strong understanding of organisational development, change management and institutional culture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
• Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD) advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic and results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and policies aligned with the university’s objectives.
• Oversee recruitment and selection processes to attract high-calibre talent.
• Lead talent management and succession planning initiatives.
• Manage employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on organisational development and workforce planning.
• Oversee compensation and benefits administration.
• Lead learning and development programmes for staff.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and institutional policies.
• Lead and mentor the HR team and manage budgets/resources.
