• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related; MBA/MS in HRM desirable.
• 7–10 years in HR management, with 3–5 years in a senior/managerial capacity.
• Experience in higher education or complex organisational environments preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian employment law, labour regulations and statutory requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations.
• Strong understanding of organisational development, change management and institutional culture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
• Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD) advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic and results-oriented mindset.

About the role

Perdana University is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Human Resources to join our Human Resources & Recruitment team. This is a full-time position based in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. As Senior Manager, Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our human resources strategy, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and values. This position holds significant responsibility for driving organisational excellence through effective people management, talent development and strategic HR initiatives that support our academic and administrative excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive human resources strategies and policies that align with the university's strategic objectives and institutional values
• Oversee recruitment and selection processes, ensuring the attraction and retention of high-calibre academic and administrative talent
• Lead talent management and succession planning initiatives to build capability and ensure continuity across the organisation
• Manage employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on organisational development, workforce planning and change management initiatives
• Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with institutional capacity

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline; MBA or Master's in Human Resources Management is highly desirable
• Minimum 7-10 years' experience in human resources management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or managerial capacity
• Proven experience working within a higher education institution or complex organisational environment is strongly preferred
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian employment law, labour regulations and statutory requirements
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations
• Strong understanding of organisational development, change management and institutional culture development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
• Advanced proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Professional HR certification, such as CIPD or equivalent membership, is advantageous
• Proven capability to work autonomously whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic and results-oriented mindset
