Job summary

SFRESH TRADING SDN BHD is seeking a purchasing professional to manage daily purchasing for fresh food products, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating with warehouses, operations, and finance. You will monitor stock, ensure quality and expiry compliance, and drive supplier performance reporting.

Applicants should have a diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 4 years in buying or retail operations.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related disciplines.
Minimum 4 years of relevant buying/purchasing or retail operations experience.
Experience in supermarket, grocery, hypermarket or retail industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage daily purchasing activities for fresh food products.
Source and negotiate with suppliers, farmers, wholesalers, and distributors.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, MOQ, and delivery schedules.
Monitor daily stock levels, sales demand, and purchasing requirements.
Ensure sufficient supply of fresh products and minimise stock shortages and wastage.
Monitor product freshness, quality, shelf life, and expiry dates.
Coordinate with Warehouse, Operations and Finance on purchasing requirements.
Evaluate supplier performance and maintain good supplier relationships.
Prepare purchasing, cost, and supplier performance reports.
Assist in planning purchases for peak seasons, promotions, and festive periods.
Ensure all purchasing activities follow company policies and procedures.
Assist the Purchasing Manager in managing and improving the purchasing operations.
Guide and supervise Purchasing Executives/Assistants when required.
