Myamax Precision Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, located in Melaka, is seeking a diligent Storekeeper to manage receiving, storage and issuing of materials for production. The role includes maintaining accurate stock records, conducting cycle counts, and coordinating with Procurement and Logistics to ensure timely deliveries and returns.

Candidates should be familiar with inventory procedures, safe material handling, and operating forklifts where trained.

Job Description Duties and Responsibilities

1. Receiving and inspection. Receive incoming goods and check quantities, item codes, descriptions and visible condition against purchase orders and delivery documents. Coordinate with Procurement and Quality on shortages, excess quantities, damage or suspected nonconformance; segregate affected goods pending instructions.

2. Storage and identification. Store materials in designated, orderly and accessible locations. Maintain clear item, batch or lot identification where applicable, separate accepted and held stock, and protect precision components and finished goods from contamination, corrosion and handling damage.

3. Inventory records. Maintain accurate stock records, bin locations and balances in the approved inventory system or stock registers. Record receipts, issues, transfers and returns promptly, retaining supporting documents for traceability and audit.

4. Material issuance. Pick and issue the correct materials and quantities against authorised requisitions for production and other users. Verify item identity and any applicable batch requirements, maintain stock issue registers and record unused material returns.

5. Stock counts and reconciliation. Perform scheduled cycle counts and physical stock counts. Compare physical quantities with records, investigate and report discrepancies, and support reconciliation; process adjustments only after the required approval.

6. Delivery and return coordination. Work closely with Procurement and Logistics to coordinate incoming deliveries, collections and supplier returns. Prepare and hand over the correct goods and supporting records, and highlight shortages or delays that may affect production.

7. Store security and housekeeping. Maintain the security, cleanliness and orderly condition of the store. Control access, keep aisles and emergency routes clear, and report damaged packaging, unsafe stacking, loss, deterioration or other storage risks promptly.

8. Safe material handling. Use safe lifting and material movement practices. Operate forklifts, lift trucks and other handling equipment only when trained and authorised, complete required pre-use checks and report equipment defects.

9. Quality and operational support. Comply with applicable company safety, quality and inventory procedures. Support stock and audit enquiries, flag low or unavailable stock and slow-moving items to the supervisor, and suggest practical improvements to storage and stock control.
