Job summary

EWL ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. is seeking a Steel Material Controller (Raw Material) in Rawang, Selangor. You will manage incoming and outgoing steel materials, maintain accurate records, verify certificates, and safeguard stock integrity on site.

The role requires 2+ years of steel materials handling, knowledge of steel grades, and experience reading Mill Test Certificates. You will log stock movements, perform counts, and coordinate with the factory manager.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, or related field, or SPM/SPMV with strong relevant experience.
• Minimum 2+ years handling steel structural materials (beams, columns, plates, channels, angles).
• Experience in a steel fabrication factory or raw material yard is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of steel types, sizes, and structural grades (S275, S355, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand Mill Test Certificates (MTC) and match heat numbers.
• Familiarity with common steel shapes and basic storage practices (stacking, rust prevention).
• Maintain accurate logbooks and stock records with good counting and basic math skills.
• Attention to detail in record-keeping and document verification.
• Able to write clear daily reports in English or Bahasa Malaysia and communicate effectively with suppliers, store assistants, and the factory manager.
• Physically fit to walk, stand, climb, and inspect steel materials outdoors and willing to wear full PPE.

Responsibilities

• Keep accurate daily records of steel received, stored, and issued, and log all stock movements.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts to match system records and inform the factory manager when stock is low.

• Inspect incoming steel for size, grade, and physical condition (no rust, bending, pitting, or damage).
• Verify steel grades (S275, S355, etc) against delivery orders and check heat numbers against Mill Test Certificates (MTC).
• Ensure all certificates are valid, comply with project specifications, and reject non-conforming materials immediately.
• Prepare clear daily and weekly stock reports for the factory manager.
• Flag any discrepancies, missing documents, or damaged materials immediately.
• Maintain proper filing of all delivery orders, MTCs, and inspection records.

Steel Material Controller (Raw Material)

We are looking for an honest and organized Steel Material Controller. You will manage all incoming and outgoing steel raw materials in our factory. Your main job is to keep accurate records, verify steel quality documents, and handle valuable steel stocks with high integrity.
