We are looking for a dedicated Factory Safety Executive with strong leadership in guiding workers. You will maintain, monitor, and improve health and safety systems in our structural steel fabrication factory. This role combines documentation (reports, HIRARC, permits, PMA) with practical floor inspection and worker training.
Conduct daily walkthroughs of production lines, warehouses, and loading bays to identify and eliminate mechanical hazards (machine guards, emergency stops) and behavioral hazards.
Inspect machinery (forklifts, cranes, conveyors, presses) and check fire extinguishers, exits, and first-aid kits.
Manage safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and ensure compliance with DOE guidelines and environmental regulations.
Maintain proper Scheduled Waste records and disposal schedules.
Create and update HIRARC documents for all factory processes and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and records of accidents, near-misses, and inspections.
Prepare safety reports for management and regulatory authorities.
Monitor expiry dates and initiate renewal applications before deadlines for safety permits, PMA, and certificates.
Conduct safety inductions for new workers and regular toolbox talks.
Provide practical training on PPE usage, machinery operation, chemical handling, and emergency response procedures.
Lead root-cause analysis for near-misses, minor injuries, or equipment damage and implement immediate corrective actions.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in OSH, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 to 3 years as a Safety Executive or Coordinator within a factory, manufacturing, or warehousing environment.
Basic understanding of Factories and Machinery Act / OSHA 1994.
Knowledge of industrial hygiene (noise, dust, ventilation) and chemical safety.
Ability to conduct HIRARC, risk assessments, and PMA renewal submissions.
Good report-writing skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills to train and guide workers.
Physically fit to walk, stand, climb, and inspect all factory areas and willing to wear full PPE (helmet, boots, vest, earplugs) at all times.
Willing to work full-time on the factory floor (noise, dust, heat).
Stable environment with large-scale structural steel fabrication projects.
