Job summary

RC Engineering & Trading Sdn Bhd in Seberang Perai, Penang is seeking a Storekeeper to manage receiving, storage, issuing, and inventory control to support production and operations. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and collaboration with Purchasing, Production, QC, and Dispatch teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in storekeeping or related roles, basic computer skills, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory control.
• Experience in engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, metalworks or industrial sector is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand material specifications and inventory documents.
• Strong organizational and inventory control skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against PO/DO and related documents.
• Check material quantities, specifications, quality, and condition on receipt.
• Report shortages, damages, discrepancies promptly.
• Segregate and control materials under Good, Hold, and Reject status.
• Arrange, label, and store materials systematically in designated locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement transactions.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies to relevant departments.
• Perform regular stock counts, cycle counts, and annual audits.
• Ensure proper documentation and inventory accuracy at all times.
• Issue materials to Production based on approved requisitions.
• Receive, organize, and maintain WIP and finished goods.
• Prepare materials for delivery or dispatch.
• Assist with packing, loading, unloading, and shipment activities when required.
• Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Production, QC, and Dispatch.
• Maintain 6S practices in the store area and keep records organized.
• Perform other duties related to store and inventory operations.

We are seeking a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented Storekeeper to join RC Engineering & Trading Sdn Bhd. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and monitoring materials, ensuring accurate inventory control and supporting smooth production and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Material Control

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO), and related documents.
• Check material quantities, specifications, quality, and physical condition upon receipt.
• Report shortages, damages, discrepancies, or non-conforming materials promptly.
• Segregate and control materials under Good, Hold, and Reject status.

Store & Inventory Management

• Arrange, label, and store materials systematically in designated locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement transactions.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies to relevant departments.
• Perform regular stock counts, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits.
• Ensure proper documentation and inventory accuracy at all times.

Production & Dispatch Support

• Issue materials to Production based on approved material requisitions.
• Receive, organize, and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) and finished goods.
• Prepare materials, components, and finished products for delivery or dispatch.
• Assist with packing, loading, unloading, and shipment activities when required.

Compliance & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Production, Quality Control (QC), and Dispatch departments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory procedures, and safety regulations.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and implement 6S practices within the store area.
• Keep records and filing systems organized and up-to-date.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management related to store and inventory operations.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or Inventory Control role is preferred.
• Experience in the Engineering, Fabrication, Manufacturing, Metalworks, or Industrial sector will be an added advantage.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and understand material specifications and inventory documents.
• Good organizational, record-keeping, and inventory control skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to perform warehouse-related tasks.

• Valid Driving Licence.
• Forklift operating skills would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of stock control, inventory auditing, and warehouse best practices.
