Job summary

Multi-Code Electronics Industries (M) Berhad is seeking a Spraying Process Engineer to design and refine spray painting and coating processes for plastics and metals, ensuring quality and efficiency across all project stages.

You will define critical parameters, troubleshoot defects, support NPI, and collaborate with production to improve throughput and reduce paint wastage while maintaining process specifications and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in spray painting/coating processes and quality assurance.
• Ability to troubleshoot defects and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine spray painting/coating processes for plastics and metal parts (OEM scope).
• Define critical process parameters such as spray pressure, nozzle type, spindle speed, and curing conditions.
• Oversee equipment setup and evaluate process performance at project stages; produce reports.

Job description

Spraying Process Engineer responsible for designing and refining spray painting and coating processes for plastics and metal parts, managing critical process parameters, and ensuring quality and efficiency across all project stages.

Key responsibilities

Design and refine spray painting/coating processes for plastics and metal parts

Define critical process parameters such as spray pressure, nozzle type, spindle speed, and curing conditions

Evaluate equipment and process performance at each project stage and formulate technical and performance reports

Troubleshoot defects like poor adhesion, orange peel, runs, uneven coating or color variation

Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition to mass production

Collaborate with production teams to improve throughput and reduce paint wastage

Establish and maintain process specifications, SOP and PFC

Conduct audits, risk assessments and corrective actions for deviations

Oversee spray booth, spindle line and automated spraying equipment setup

Work with suppliers to evaluate new spray guns, atomizers or coating materials

About you

Ability to collaborate with Quality, Engineering and suppliers to resolve technical issues

Capability to train operators and technicians on process stability and safety practices

Experience with RFQ calculation and investment estimation for standard assembly process modules

Ability to conduct trial runs for new project sample builds

Experience collaborating with cross functional teams including Quality Assurance, R&D, and Manufacturing to carry out PFMEA analysis
