Job summary

Tamasek Group Sdn Bhd in Pontian, Johor seeks a motivated Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and ensure safety and quality compliance. You will analyze workflows, implement continuous improvements, and collaborate with QA, Maintenance, and EHS to support ISO standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Diploma in an engineering discipline, hands-on process knowledge, and a proactive, analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply; 2–5 years preferred in manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing process workflows, line balancing, and cycle time analysis.
• Hands-on experience with root-cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, FMEA).
• Familiarity with ISO quality and environmental management systems (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic CAD software is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, 5S) to boost productivity and reduce downtime/scrap.
• Develop, update, and maintain SOPs, WI, PFDs, and FMEA.
• Oversee machine setup, line balance, process qualification, and parameter optimization for NPI or mass production upgrades.
• Perform root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for process issues; implement CAPA.
• Partner with Production, QA/QC, Maintenance, and EHS to ensure ISO compliance (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001).
• Collect and analyze yield data, cycle times, and machine efficiency metrics; present recommendations to management.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Analyze existing manufacturing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S) to boost productivity and reduce downtime/scrap rates

Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Oversee machine setup, line balance, process qualification, and parameter optimization for new product introductions (NPI) or mass production upgrades

Perform root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for process line non-conformances, operational breakdowns, and quality issues; implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Partner closely with Production, Quality Assurance (QA/QC), Maintenance, and EHS teams to ensure smooth operational flow and compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001)

Collect and analyze yield data, cycle times, and machine efficiency metrics to present actionable recommendations to management

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience:

Fresh graduates with relevant project/internship experience are welcome to apply.

2-5 years of working experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Solid understanding of manufacturing process workflows, line balancing, and cycle time analysis.

Hands-on experience with root-cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, FMEA).

Familiarity with ISO quality and environmental management systems (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001).

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic CAD software is an added advantage.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Language: Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
