Job summary

Seamaster Paint (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Coating Process Engineer to drive productivity improvements and supervise coating operations. You will monitor OPE/OEE, manage tooling, and lead cost-reduction and quality-improvement projects within a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a chemical engineering background and 2–3 years in a coating/process engineering capacity, with strong data analysis and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience as Coating Process Engineer or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
• Fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin (added advantage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage productivity improvement activities on Operation Efficiency (OPE) / Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
• Conduct, supervise and optimize operation equipment/tooling and process measurement control.
• Lead improvement projects to reduce costs and improve quality.
• Provide relevant training when required.
• Maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, quality control procedures, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance in the paint shop.
• Support new product introduction with technical guidance.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality control and production teams.

Job description

Responsible to manage productivity improvement activities on Operation Efficiency (OPE) / Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).

To conduct and manage and supervise all operation equipment/tooling, process measurement control, improvement project (reduce costs, and improve quality) and activities.

Identifying information and solving problem by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities and detecting changes in circumstances or events.

Provide relevant training when required.

Operations Research (OR) includes optimization, decision analysis and simulation on pilot batch & MP (Mass Prod).

Documentation and Training: Maintain accurate process documentation, including work instructions, quality control procedures, and equipment maintenance logs.

Safety and Environmental Compliance: Implement and maintain safety protocols and environmental regulations in the paint shop.

New Product Introduction: Support the introduction of new products and processes, providing technical expertise and guidance.

Collaboration:Work closely with other engineering teams, quality control, and production personnel to ensure smooth and efficient paint operations.

Education/Qualification : A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials

Science, or a related field.

Experience : 2-3 years of experience as Coating Process Engineer or in a similar

role within the manufacturing industry.

Skills : -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to

interpret data and make data-driven decisions
