Job summary

Yap Ah Shak House Sdn Bhd is seeking a Sound Technician to set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for live events, meetings, and recordings. You will focus on technical and operational aspects of audio production to support smooth execution before, during, and after each event.

The role requires a Diploma or Certificate in Audio Technology or related field, 1–2 years' experience in event audio, and the ability to work under pressure, including irregular hours and weekends.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Audio Technology, Sound Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years' experience in event audio setup or live sound operation.
• Knowledge of handling microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and signal flow.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to technical issues.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• To set up, test, and operate microphones, amplifiers, speakers, mixing consoles, and other audio equipment before and during events
• Ensure sound checks and audio levels are properly balanced
• Monitor and adjust sound quality throughout events or recordings
• Troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and efficiently
• Maintain and store audio equipment in good working condition
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
