Job summary

Swan Garden Hotel is seeking an Audio Visual Technician to set up, operate, and dismantle AV gear for weddings, conferences, meetings, and events. You will ensure equipment functions properly and provide on-site technical support throughout events.

The role requires knowledge of sound systems, projectors, LED walls, and basic networking, with experience in hotels or event venues being an advantage. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply and may expect shift work and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum certificate or diploma in Audio Visual technology or related field.
• Experience in hotels, convention centres, event companies, or AV services is a plus.
• Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge encouraged to apply.
• Familiar with professional sound systems, projectors, LED walls, lighting, and basic networking.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and dismantle audio visual equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, exhibitions, and events.
• Operate and troubleshoot microphones, sound systems, projectors, LED screens, TVs, lighting, and video conferencing systems.
• Test and ensure AV equipment functions properly before events.
• Provide on-site technical support and resolve issues during events.
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and basic repairs of AV gear.
• Maintain inventory and storage of AV equipment, cables, and accessories.
• Coordinate with clients, event organizers, and Sales & Marketing for smooth execution.
• Support hybrid meetings and virtual events via Zoom, Teams, Webex.
• Adhere to hotel safety, SOPs, and service standards.

As an Audio Visual Technician, you will play a key role in creating exceptional experiences for weddings, conferences, meetings, and special events in a dynamic hospitality environment. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and dismantling audio visual equipment, ensuring all systems function properly, and providing on-site technical support during events.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and dismantle audio visual equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, exhibitions, and special events
• Operate and troubleshoot microphones, sound systems, projectors, LED screens, televisions, lighting equipment, and video conferencing systems
• Ensure all AV equipment is tested and functioning properly before each event
• Provide on-site technical support and resolve technical issues promptly during events
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and basic repairs of AV equipment
• Maintain proper storage and inventory of AV equipment, cables, and accessories
• Liaise with clients, event organizers, banquet operations, and the Sales & Marketing team to ensure smooth event execution
• Support hybrid meetings and virtual events using platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex
• Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, SOPs, and professional service standards

About you

• Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Audio Visual Technology, Multimedia, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience in hotels, convention centres, event companies, or AV services is an added advantage
• Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of professional sound systems, audio mixers, projectors, LED walls, presentation systems, and basic stage lighting
• Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and basic computer networking
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
