Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a software engineer to support ERP/MES users and modernize legacy VFP applications to .NET, ASP.NET/C#, Windows Forms and SQL Server. You will design manufacturing systems, migrate legacy apps, and implement data-driven solutions across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field.
• Experience with legacy system modernization, API/integration work, and MES/SAP context is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of databases, SQL performance tuning, and data modeling.
• Experience in testing, deployment, and maintenance of data processing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Test, deploy and maintain data processing solutions to support key business processes.
• Migrate legacy VFP applications to MS .NET stack: ASP.NET/C#, Windows Forms, SQL Server.
• Design, develop next generation manufacturing systems and applications using database modeling and OO design.
• Migrate to modern web-based architecture; convert VFP set to .NET stack.
• Analyze user software needs and apply Agile practices to deliver scalable apps incrementally.
• Analyze data and build reporting solutions to answer key business questions.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure to design scalable deployment architecture and release-to-production processes.
• Develop tools to automate and improve manufacturing workflows; integrate MES and ERP.
• Provide documentation and best practices for maintainable code.

Work in a support role with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and MES systems users at all levels throughout the organization. The position requires thorough knowledge of all aspects of Systems software and related database schema. The Engineer will test, deploy and maintain data processing solutions to support key business processes through the enterprise with special emphasis in manufacturing. Work with a small development team to convert the existing VFP application set to a new technology infrastructure based on Microsoft. NET with ASP.NET/C#, Windows Forms and SQL Server.

Design, develop next generation manufacturing systems and applications using best practices in database modeling and object-oriented design techniques.

Migrate existing legacy applications to modern web-based architecture. Convert the existing VFP application set to a new technology infrastructure based on Microsoft. NET with ASP.NET/C#, Windows Forms and SQL Server.

Analyze user software needs and apply best practices in Agile methodologies to deliver scalable applications incrementally.

Analyze data and build reporting solutions that answers key questions business users are looking

Work with Infrastructure team to design and develop scalable deployment architecture and release to production process.

Develops and implements software tools to automate and improve manufacturing processes. Analyze production workflows, integrate systems like MES and ERP, and apply digital solutions to enhance efficiency and data visibility.

Basic Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or any other related field.

Working experience < 4years

Experience

Experience in legacy system modernization, API/integration work, database optimization, MES production support, SAP integration, ad hoc application/report development, and system support.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Modernization of legacy applications; API development and standardization; error handling and logging; technical documentation; MySQL and SQL performance tuning; indexing; MES application support and development; root cause analysis; C#; React; SQL; scripting such as PowerShell or SQL jobs; reusable code/template development; deployment support.

Independent problem solving, ownership, proactive issue prevention, cross-functional support, and ability to improve operational efficiency.
