The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a safety role in construction, with a valid DOSH certificate in Malaysia, and the ability to communicate clearly and maintain detailed records.

SITE SAFETY SUPERVISOR ( CONTRACT BASIS)

About the role Al-Ambia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our construction team on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across our construction sites in Selangor. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will play a critical role in protecting our workforce, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture. This is a contract position based on-site in Selangor, where your presence and oversight will be essential to our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards
• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific health and safety plans tailored to project requirements
• Provide comprehensive safety induction and training to all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Monitor daily work activities to ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
• Maintain detailed safety records, documentation, and reports as required by regulatory authorities
• Liaise with project management, clients, and regulatory bodies regarding safety matters and compliance status
• Coordinate and conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings with site teams
• Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution, usage, and compliance
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety performance and implement preventative measures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or similar health and safety role within construction
• Valid construction industry safety certification or equivalent qualification (such as DOSH certificate or equivalent in Malaysia)
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety regulations, standards, and best practices
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with workers at all levels and manage safety incidents professionally
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
• Physical fitness and ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions
• Proactive approach to safety with strong attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements under pressure
• Experience with safety management systems and incident reporting tools is preferred
• First Aid certification is advantageous
