Job summary

MYS ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to ensure activities are performed safely and in compliance with Malaysian regulations. You will support the Safety & Health Officer, implement the HSE system, and lead safety programmes across project sites.

You will conduct inspections, manage risk assessments, lead toolbox talks, and investigate incidents to drive continuous safety improvements. A driver’s licence and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Qualification in OSH (OSHM) or equivalent safety certification.
• Minimum 3–5 years as Site Safety Supervisor in electrical or related industries.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1994 and Malaysian safety regulations.
• Strong risk assessment, incident investigation and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead toolbox talks, inductions, and safety awareness programmes.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and actions.
• Maintain HSE documentation and submit weekly safety reports.

Job description

As Site Safety Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring every activity is carried out safely, responsibly, and in full alignment with the highest standards. From safeguarding our workforce to strengthening our safety culture, your contribution will directly shape the success and integrity of our projects.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Safety & Health Officer in implementing and maintaining the company's HSE Management System at project sites

Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including OSHA 1994, Environmental Quality Act 1974, and related regulations

Develop, implement, and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and protocols in line with Malaysian construction safety standards

Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and environmental hazards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented

Perform Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) for all work activities

Monitor and enforce high-risk activities including lifting operations, working at height, hot work, confined space entry, and electrical works

Ensure proper implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for all high-risk activities

Lead and facilitate toolbox meetings, safety briefings, inductions, and HSE awareness programmes to promote a strong safety culture

Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences, documenting findings and implement corrective and preventive actions

Maintain detailed HSE documentation, including incident reports, risk assessments, toolbox records, and safety statistics, and submit weekly safety reports

About you

A recognised qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHM) or equivalent recognised safety certification

Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a Site Safety Supervisor in electrical or related industries

In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Malaysian safety regulations, standards and best practices

Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to identify, evaluate and mitigate workplace hazards

Proficiency in accident and incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels

Highly organised with strong documentation skills and attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Integrated Management System (IMS), ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

Able to work independently, take ownership of safety outcomes, and collaborate effectively with project teams

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between project sites as required
