EVERGRAND ELECTRONIC SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. seeks a Site Safety Officer (SSO) / EHS Engineer to implement and manage comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment programs at construction and engineering project sites in Malaysia, with a focus on semiconductor and M&E environments.
The role requires strong knowledge of Malaysian statutory requirements (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, DOSH, CIDB) and the ability to enforce compliance across all stakeholders, including contractors and clients.
We are seeking a Site Safety Officer (SSO) / EHS Engineer to implement and manage comprehensive workplace Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS) programs at our construction and engineering project sites, particularly within semiconductor and M&E environments. The role requires strong knowledge of Malaysian statutory requirements (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, DOSH, CIDB) and the ability to enforce compliance across all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Implement and enforce EHS policies, safety management systems, and safe work procedures
Prepare safety-related documents including Safety Work Method Statements, Emergency Response Plans, HIRARC, and other statutory submissions
Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act 1967, USECHH 2000, DOSH, CIDB rules, and client safety standards
Conduct EHS training, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and safety inductions for new workers
Lead safety promotion activities and ensure PPE is properly issued, used, and documented
Conduct daily site safety patrols, identify hazards, stop unsafe acts, and ensure corrective measures are taken
Issue Safety Rectification Notices for major hazards and ensure timely close-out
Maintain complete and accurate EHS documentation including daily safety logs, safety diaries, weekly & monthly safety reports, HIRARC & JHA records, and incident/accident reports
Coordinate with clients, main contractors, and subcontractors on all safety requirements
Develop targeted emergency response plans and conduct periodic drills (fire, evacuation, rescue)
About you
1–3 years of relevant site safety experience, preferably in construction, M&E, or semiconductor projects
Must hold a Malaysia-recognized safety qualification, specifically Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) – Yellow Book (DOSH)
Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field
Strong understanding of Malaysian safety regulations, including risk assessment, hazard identification, accident prevention, and emergency response
Hands-on experience in site safety patrols, hazard identification, and corrective action implementation
Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Malay (written & spoken). Mandarin is essential for communicating with Mandarin-speaking clients and subcontractors
Proactive, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently on-site
Willing to travel and be stationed at project sites based on operational needs
