Job summary

Woh Hup Group is seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor for a major Data Centre project in Selangor. You will oversee day-to-day safety activities, ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP and project HSE policies, and coordinate with the project team to maintain a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in construction site safety supervision, a valid SSS certification, and experience with large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of construction site safety supervision experience.
• SSS certification recognised by DOSH/JKKP.
• Main Contractor project experience preferred.
• Data Centre/industrial/semi-conductor/large-scale project experience advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of OSH requirements and safety practices.
• Effective communication with workers, subcontractors and management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site safety activities across the project.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP, OSHA, project HSE procedures and Malaysian legislation.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe acts.
• Ensure implementation of risk assessments, HIRARC, SWP, Method Statements and PTW systems.
• Monitor high-risk activities (lifting, working at height, hot works, confined spaces, excavation, electrical works, heavy equipment).
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, inductions and orientations.
• Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and liaise with authorities on safety matters.
• Investigate accidents and near misses; assist in reports and corrective actions.
• Ensure proper PPE usage and adherence to site safety rules.
• Coordinate safety inspections, drills and campaigns; maintain safety records.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our construction team for a major Data Centre project in Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site safety activities, ensuring compliance with Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements, project safety standards, and the Main Contractor's HSE policies.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Engineers, subcontractors, and workers to maintain a safe and compliant working environment throughout the project lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily site safety activities across the construction project.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP requirements, OSHA requirements, project HSE procedures, and relevant Malaysian legislation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
• Ensure appropriate risk assessments, HIRARC, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems are implemented.
• Monitor high-risk construction activities including lifting operations, working at height, hot works, confined spaces, excavation, electrical works, and heavy equipment operations.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, inductions, and site safety orientations.
• Monitor subcontractors and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and assist in preparing reports and corrective actions.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure workers comply with site safety rules.
• Coordinate safety inspections, audits, emergency drills, and safety campaigns.
• Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, permits, training records, and other HSE documentation.
• Stop unsafe work where necessary and escape significant safety concerns to the Site Safety Supervisor/Manager and Project Management team.
• Liaise with project management, subcontractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
• Support the implementation of the project's Emergency Response Plan and emergency preparedness activities.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across the project site.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in construction site safety supervision.
• Experience working for a Main Contractor is highly preferred.
• Previous experience in Data Centre, industrial, semiconductor, high-tech, commercial, or large-scale construction projects will be an advantage.
• Possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certification recognised by DOSH/JKKP.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements and construction safety practices.
• Strong understanding of HIRARC, PTW, Method Statements, Toolbox Meetings, Safety Inspections, and Incident Reporting.
• Able to communicate effectively with workers, subcontractors, engineers, and project management.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Proactive, disciplined, and able to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Willing to be site-based in Selangor and work according to project requirements.
