ENCHEM SDN. BHD. on Pangkor Island, Perak, seeks a Site Safety Supervisor for a 12-month contract (or until project completion) to lead health, safety and environmental compliance on site.

Duties include developing safety policies, conducting site inspections and risk assessments, investigating incidents, delivering on-site safety training, enforcing PPE use, and maintaining accurate records; requires Yellow Book qualification and 2–5 years' experience; First Aid/CPR desirable.

Qualifications

• Recognized Site Safety Supervisor qualification (Yellow Book).
• 2–5 years of experience in safety supervision in construction/industrial sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysia health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess risks and implement mitigations.
• Experience investigating accidents/incidents and corrective actions.
• Excellent communication to engage workers at all levels; documentation skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification is desirable.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Safety Supervisor to join ENCHEM SDN. BHD. in Pangkor Island, Perak. 12 months contract or until the project complete which ever early. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of all operations on site. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture across the entire workforce. This position is essential to our commitment to operating a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive site safety policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with local and international standards
• Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
• Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Providing on-site safety training and inductions to all workers, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness of safety requirements
• Monitoring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and enforcing safe working practices across all activities
• Liaising with regulatory authorities and external safety consultants to ensure adherence to environmental and occupational health regulations
• Maintaining accurate safety records, reports, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to promote awareness and continuous improvement of safety standards
• Managing emergency response procedures and coordinating evacuation drills to ensure workforce preparedness
• Reporting directly to site management on safety performance metrics and identifying trends requiring intervention

What we're looking for

A recognized qualification in Site Safety Supervisor with Yellow book Holder.

Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience working as a Safety Supervisor or similar role within the construction or industrial sector

In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices applicable in Malaysia

Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation strategies

Proven experience in investigating accidents and incidents and implementing corrective action plans

Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with workers at all levels and promote a safety-first culture

Proficiency in safety management systems and the ability to maintain comprehensive documentation and records

Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and work in construction environments

Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable

Experience with environmental management and sustainability practices is an advantage
