Job summary

GEO Strategic (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor for a contract role at our Kerteh, Terengganu site. You will implement safety standards, lead inductions, inspect work areas and ensure regulatory and company policy compliance.

This position requires a CIDB SH Officer certification, 5+ years of construction safety experience, strong communication skills, and ability to drive a safety culture across site teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or similar safety role within the construction industry.
• CIDB Safety and Health Officer certification or equivalent recognised HSE qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations and HSE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits across all work areas to identify hazards and non-compliance
• Develop, implement and monitor site-specific safety plans, procedures and protocols aligned with regulatory standards
• Provide mandatory safety inductions and training to all site personnel, including toolbox talks and refresher training sessions
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, documentation and reports required for regulatory compliance and company requirements
• Liaise with site management, contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures
• Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices on site
• Coordinate with environmental and occupational health teams to ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations
• Identify and implement improvements to safety performance and risk mitigation strategies
• Respond to safety incidents and emergencies with appropriate first response measures and documentation

About the role

GEO Strategic (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our team in Kerteh, Terengganu. This is a contract position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our construction operations. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous safety standards across the site, protecting our workforce, and ensuring all activities align with regulatory requirements and company policies. Your leadership and vigilance will be fundamental to creating a safe working environment and preventing incidents that could impact our team members and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or similar safety role within the construction industry
• Valid Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Safety and Health Officer certification or equivalent recognised HSE qualification
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, guidelines and best practices
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) frameworks and compliance requirements
• Proven experience conducting risk assessments and developing safety management plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with multi-level teams
• Ability to lead, influence and motivate site personnel to adopt a strong safety culture
• Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple safety initiatives simultaneously
• Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and demonstrate safe working practices
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid qualifications (desirable)
• Experience with construction safety management systems and digital safety reporting tools (desirable)
