Yon Sang Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for its Johor Bahru-based civil and structural team. The role focuses on overseeing daily site operations, coordinating construction activities, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years on-site experience, a Civil/Structural degree, and strong drawing interpretation skills. PE eligibility is desirable as the company offers growth and development opportunities.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related.
• 2–3 years of practical site engineering experience on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, codes.
• Experience with construction management software and MS Office.
• PE registration (Professional Engineer) or eligibility is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities to follow schedules and specs.
• Monitor and inspect works for compliance with drawings and codes.
• Prepare and maintain site documentation including daily reports.
• Liaise between PMO, contractors, and subcontractors for effective communication.
• Conduct site safety inspections and uphold safe working environment.
• Monitor materials deliveries and site inventory.
• Identify and resolve technical issues to prevent delays.
• Assist in cost control and budget management by tracking expenditures.
• Support method statements, safety plans, and quality control procedures.
• Conduct inductions and toolbox talks for site personnel.

About the role

Yon Sang Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our civil and structural engineering team based in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution and delivery of construction projects. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing construction activities, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role is essential to maintaining project timelines, budgets, and the highest standards of workmanship on site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure work progresses according to approved schedules and specifications
• Monitor and inspect construction works to verify compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, and building codes
• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, progress records, and quality assurance reports
• Liaise between the project management office, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Conduct site safety inspections and implement preventative measures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel
• Monitor material deliveries and site inventory to ensure adequate supplies and proper storage of construction materials
• Identify and resolve technical issues and site problems in a timely manner to prevent project delays
• Assist in cost control and budget management by tracking expenditures and reporting variances
• Support the preparation of method statements, safety plans, and quality control procedures
• Conduct inductions and toolbox meetings for site personnel regarding safety and project requirements

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 2-3 years of practical site engineering experience on construction projects
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, construction methodologies, and building codes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications
• Experience with construction management software and MS Office applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders
• Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices in construction
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor construction environments
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or eligibility is highly desirable
• Experience with specific construction types such as commercial buildings, infrastructure, or residential developments is advantageous
