Job summary

Flex is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to support inbound and outbound shipments at our Penang facilities in Prai or Batu Kawan. You will plan routes, prepare production schedules, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with export/import regulations.

The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2–3 years of related supervision experience. Join a team focused on cost-effective, compliant logistics and cross-functional collaboration within SCM and order desks.

Responsibilities

• Plan inbound/outbound shipments and routes for domestic and international deliveries.
• Prepare production plans and input planning data into the company system.
• Monitor plan implementation and address deviations.
• Prepare long-term plans and forecasts (MPS, Forecast).
• Monitor system accuracy and data (routing, BOM, CFT data).
• Prepare reports and monitor KPI’s; inform order desk and ECO tracing.
• Arrange export licenses, customs declarations, packing, shipping, and routing; monitor licenses and compliance.
• Investigate transportation and freight costs and choose carriers.
• Ensure efficient and traceable movement of products both inbound and outbound.

Job description

Shipping Supervisor

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Shipping Supervisor located in Prai or Batu Kawan, Penang.

Plans, schedules, and routes in-bound and out-bound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs and company policies.

What a typical day looks like:

• Checking the possibility of the order fulfillment based on the available resources (materials, employees, equipment’s etc.), confirmation of the order.
• Preparation of production plans, input of planning data into the integrated computer system of the company, notification of the purchasing group.
• Monitoring, control of implementation of plans, starting necessary actions in case of deviations
• Preparation of long-term plans, forecasts (MPS, Forecast).
• Monitoring of system accuracy in daily/weekly bases /General Item data, routing, BOM, CFT data /non-consumed demand, planned WO's.
• Preparing of Clean to build reports, checking the material availability, replanning if necessary, informing of order desk, ECO implementation tracing.
• Monitoring of stock level, handling of stock differences.
• Preparing management and CFT specificized reports, monitoring of KPI's.
• Giving assistance, replacement in certain cases to SCM and Order desk within the CFT.
• Advises non-exempt associates regarding day-to-day priority of customer requests.
• Monitors and proactively addresses issues that impact performance to committed ship date (CS
• May direct others in expediting export correspondence, bid requests, and credit collections.
• Arranges shipping details such as export licenses, customs declarations, and packing, shipping, and routing of product. Monitors export license and compliance.
• Investigates and recommends transportation and freight costs as well as appropriate routing and carriers to be used.
• Provides cost effective, efficient and traceable movement of company products both in-bound and out-bound.
• Expedites import-export arrangements and maintains current information on import-export tariffs, licenses, and restrictions.
• Audits freight bills and prepares and negotiates claims
• Interprets laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.
• Schedules company vehicles for service and normal maintenance checks and is in charge for ensuring that all are registered and have the proper insurance.
• Ensures all drivers are qualified and have the proper licenses.
