About the role

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Bending Technician to join the engineering team at HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Perai, Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining sheet metal bending equipment, ensuring precision and quality in all fabrication work. You will play a crucial part in our manufacturing operations, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality metal components for our diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

Operate sheet metal bending machinery and equipment safely and efficiently to produce components according to specifications and technical drawings

Set up bending equipment, including press brakes and related tooling, ensuring correct calibration and alignment

Monitor and inspect bent components for quality, accuracy and compliance with dimensional tolerances

Perform preventative maintenance on sheet metal bending equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments as required

Collaborate with production planning and quality assurance teams to meet production schedules and quality standards

Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations

Document production activities and maintain accurate records of work completed

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in the bending process

What we're looking for

Proven experience operating sheet metal bending equipment, such as press brakes and related machinery

Strong understanding of sheet metal properties, bending tolerances and fabrication techniques

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

Knowledge of quality control standards and precision measurement techniques

Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Valid safety certifications or willingness to obtain relevant certifications

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production deadlines

Experience with CNC bending or other advanced fabrication technologies is advantageous
