Job summary

Jstar Motion Sdn. Bhd is seeking a Process Technician (Bending) in Kulai, Johor to set up, adjust, and operate CNC Press Brake machines for sheet metal bending. You will read drawings, inspect first pieces, and ensure precise bend angles and dimensions.

The role requires 1–3 years of hands-on bending experience, plus a Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Sheet Metal Fabrication. You'll maintain 5S in the bending area and work with Engineering to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years of hands on experience in sheet metal bending operations.
• Proficient in reading standard engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge is a plus).
• Familiar with CNC Press Brake controllers and tooling setups.
• Education: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, or equivalent trade skill certificate (SKM/DKM).

Responsibilities

• Setup, adjust, and operate CNC Press Brake machines for sheet metal bending.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and DXF designs.
• Perform first-piece inspection to ensure bend angles, radii, and dimensions.
• Maintain 5S standard in bending work zone and perform routine machine maintenance.

Job description

We are a multi-national company involved developing, manufacturing and marketing for intelligent and ergonomic products, located in I-park Industrial area, Kulai, Johor. We are looking to hire for Process Technician (Bending).

You will play an important role in:

Setup, adjust, and operate CNC Press Brake machines (e.g., Dardontech, Amada, Trumpf) for sheet metal bending.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and flat pattern DXF designs.

Perform first-piece inspection and ensure precise bend angles, radius, and dimensions using standard measuring tools (calipers, protractors, height gauges).

Calculate and apply bending allowances, bend deductions, and appropriate tooling selection based on material type and thickness (e.g., SPCC, Stainless Steel, Aluminum).

Perform daily basic machine maintenance, routine checks, and maintain 5S standard in the bending work zone.

Work closely with the Process/Manufacturing Engineering team to optimize bending sequences and troubleshoot process defects.

To succeed in this role, we will need you to have:

Education: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, or equivalent trade skill certificate (SKM/DKM).

Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of hands on experience in sheet metal bending operations.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in reading standard engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge is a plus).

Familiar with CNC Press Brake controllers and tooling setups.

Good understanding of material behavior, bend line alignments, and springback characteristics.
