Job summary

OCI Tokuyama Semiconductor Materials Sdn Bhd is seeking a SHE Manager to lead the Safety, Health, and Environment functions for a manufacturing/chemical plant. You will develop and implement the SMS, drive regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 8–10 years in SHE, and 3–5 years in management. Experience in semiconductors or petrochemical environments is preferred; SHO certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Safety, Health & Environment management
• 3-5 years in a managerial capacity
• Experience in manufacturing, petrochemical, chemical processing, semiconductor, or heavy industrial environments
• Proven experience dealing with regulatory authorities and compliance audits
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health regulations
• Knowledge of Environmental regulations and waste management requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) registered with DOSH (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve the Safety Management System (SMS) for the company
• Ensure compliance with OSH laws, regulations, and company standards
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control activities (HIRARC)
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and workplace assessments
• Monitor compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout Tagout (LOTO), Work at Height, Confined Space Entry, and Contractor Safety programs
• Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions
• Establish and monitor safety performance indicators and KPIs
• Promote safety awareness and foster a positive safety culture
• Implement occupational health programs to protect employee well-being
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements

SHE Manager (Safety, Health & Environment)

To lead, develop, implement, and continuously improve the Company's Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) management systems, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate requirements, and industry best practices. The role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, preventing incidents, minimizing environmental impact, and supporting sustainable operations within the manufacturing/chemical plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Company's Safety Management System (SMS)
