The position is responsible for driving and maintaining the Company’s safety, health, environmental, energy management and fire safety practices. The role will ensure compliance with statutory requirements, promote a safe working environment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications and regulatory approvals, the role may be designated as the Safety and Health Officer (SHO), Registered Energy Manager (REM), and/or Fire Safety Manager.
Develop, implement and continuously improve occupational safety and health programmes across the Company.
Ensure workplace practices comply with relevant occupational safety, health and environmental legislation, standards and internal requirements.
Conduct workplace risk assessments, safety inspections and incident investigations to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
Plan and coordinate safety training, awareness campaigns and improvement initiatives to strengthen safety culture.
Work closely with DOSH, DOE and other relevant regulatory bodies on compliance matters, inspections and submissions.
Drive energy conservation programmes and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Monitor energy usage trends, analyse performance data and identify opportunities for optimisation.
Coordinate energy audits, regulatory reporting and required submissions.
Support the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Energy Management System (EnMS).
Promote sustainable practices and energy efficiency awareness within the organisation.
Act as the appointed Fire Safety Manager where applicable and ensure compliance with BOMBA requirements.
Develop, review and maintain fire prevention, emergency response and evacuation procedures.
Organise fire drills, emergency response exercises and related preparedness activities.
Ensure fire protection equipment and systems are properly maintained, functional and compliant with requirements.
Coordinate with BOMBA and relevant authorities on fire safety inspections, approvals and regulatory matters.
Provide support to Senior Management on risk management, compliance, sustainability and improvement projects.
Maintain accurate records, reports, documentation and audit trails related to safety, energy and fire safety activities.
Support internal audits, external assessments and other compliance-related initiatives as required.
