IOT Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified Safety & Environmental Officer (EHS) to lead the company’s Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management System, with responsibility for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation and ongoing improvement.
The role requires hands-on DOSH, DOE, OSHA 1994 knowledge, conducting risk assessments, audits, CAPA, and training programs, while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective environmental management across operations in Malaysia.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety & Environmental Officer (EHS) to take charge of the company’s Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management System.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), while ensuring compliance with applicable DOSH, DOE, OSHA 1994, and environmental regulatory requirements.
Occupational Safety & Health – ISO 45001
Take overall responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company’s ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, DOSH requirements, and other applicable occupational safety and health legislation.
Conduct regular workplace inspections, HIRARC/HIRA, risk assessments, safety audits, and compliance evaluations.
Identify workplace hazards and ensure appropriate risk control measures are implemented.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Develop and conduct safety induction, toolbox meetings, awareness programs, and safety training.
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response drills and safety programs.
Monitor and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) arising from inspections, audits, and incidents.
Liaise with DOSH and other relevant authorities on safety and health matters.
Take overall responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Identify and evaluate environmental aspects and impacts associated with company activities, products, and processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation, DOE requirements, permits, and regulatory conditions.
Establish, monitor, and review environmental objectives, targets, and improvement programs.
Monitor environmental performance, including scheduled waste, chemical management, wastewater, emissions, energy, water consumption, and waste reduction, where applicable.
Manage Scheduled Waste activities, including packaging, labelling, storage, inventory, monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
Conduct regular environmental inspections and compliance evaluations.
Coordinate with DOE and other relevant authorities regarding environmental compliance, inspections, and reporting.
Implement environmental awareness and training programs to promote responsible environmental practices among employees.
Investigate environmental incidents such as chemical spills, leaks, or other environmental non-conformities and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
ISO Management System & Compliance
Plan and coordinate ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 internal and external audits.
Maintain and update relevant ISO procedures, manuals, registers, records, and documented information.
Monitor audit findings and ensure timely closure of non-conformities and corrective actions.
Prepare monthly EHS performance reports and present relevant findings and improvement plans to management.
Drive continual improvement initiatives to enhance occupational safety, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance.
Support management in establishing and reviewing EHS objectives, KPIs, and action plans.
Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks assigned by the HOD from time to time.
Valid DOSH Green Book / Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) – Mandatory.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS) management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Hands‑on experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, DOSH and DOE requirements.
Practical experience in HIRARC/HIRA, safety inspection, risk assessment, incident investigation, environmental compliance, and Scheduled Waste Management.
Experience in handling ISO audits, non‑conformities, CAPA, and continual improvement.
Experience in ISO 13485 / medical device manufacturing will be an added advantage.
