Job summary

Eng Teknologi Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Safety & Health Officer to ensure regulatory compliance and implement robust safety programs at our facility in Malaysia.

You will lead risk assessments, audits, and investigations, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance across employees, contractors, and visitors. The role requires a registered DOSH Safety and Health Officer, 3–5 years of experience in safety and environmental functions, and strong communication and documentation

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Must be a registered Safety and Health Officer with valid DOSH Green Book.
• Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in safety, health, and environmental functions, preferably in manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of OSHA, FMA, DOSH requirements, HIRARC, accident investigation, emergency response, and workplace safety practices.
• Experience in ISO 45001, ISO 14001, scheduled waste, chemical handling, fire safety, or machinery safety will be an added advantage.
• Good communication, documentation, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and interact effectively with employees, contractors, management, and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace compliance with Occupational Safety and Health requirements, DOSH regulations, company safety policies, and internal procedures.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and improvement areas.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare reports with corrective and preventive actions.
• Implement and monitor HIRARC, JSA, emergency response plans, permit-to-work systems, and other safety control measures.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, induction training, and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Coordinate Safety & Health Committee meetings, including preparation of minutes, follow-up actions, and safety improvement plans.
• Ensure proper use and availability of PPE, first aid equipment, fire protection equipment, emergency exits, and safety signage.
• Liaise with DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, local authorities, and external parties on safety, health, and environmental matters.
• Maintain proper safety documentation and records, including training, inspections, incidents, audits, chemical handling, machinery safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Support internal and external audits, customer audits, and certification activities such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or related management systems.
• Monitor contractor safety compliance during maintenance, renovation, installation, or project work within company premises.
• Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging employee participation, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
