Job summary

MKRS Bumi (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies in line with local and international regulations. You will lead incident investigations and prepare reports for management and authorities.

Responsibilities include managing safety and security on site, ensuring compliance with OHS regulations, coordinating audits, and organizing training sessions with subcontractors and workers.

Responsibilities

• To develop, implement, and maintain safety policies aligned with OSHA, DOSH, ISO 45001.
• Lead and investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit safety reports, statistics, and performance updates to management and authorities.
• Manage and coordinate safety and security matters for the project site.
• Ensure a safe workplace for all site staff and workers per OHS regulations.
• Liaise with local authorities and conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
• Organise safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks; review policies to stay compliant.

JOB SUMMARY

• To develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in line with local and international regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOSH, ISO 45001).
• Lead and investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit safety reports, statistics, and performance updates to management and authorities.
• Managing and coordinating of all safety and security matters for the project site;
• Ensure a safe working place for all site staff and workers as refer to the OHS regulations;
• Issue Notice of Non-Compliance (NCR) and penalties to contractor to those who disregards and fail to comply with site Safety & Health regulations;
• Liaise with all relevant local authorities:'
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits
• Organize and conduct safety training, induction programs, and toolbox meetings
• Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
• Ensure all employees, subcontractors, and visitors adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
• Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills regularly
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions and ensure implementation.
• Assist the management in solving Safety & Health problem at site.
• Prepare detailed safety reports and incident analysis
• To patrol and inspect the site to ensure a safe working environment at all time and submit inspection checklist to Person In Charge (PIC).
• To conduct Safety Briefing on daily or weekly basis with subcontractor and workers
• Assist the management in solving Safety & Health problem at site
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all safety-related permits and documentation are up-to-date.
• Participate and conduct internal and OSHA audits.
• Support and advice Project Manager to manage and co-ordinate all safety matters for the project site.
• Promote a strong safety culture through awareness programs and campaigns.
• To perform any other tasks as requested by the superiors and management and to generally perform all administrative work;
