Provides operational HSE support for all activities associated with day-to-day operation preventing death, injury and ill-health. Coordinates implement health, safety and environment programs, and procedures and maintains compliance with state and national regulatory standards. Assist to maintain and implement HSE Management System to ensure compliance. Focused on monitoring compliance. Established best practises and analysing problem areas of injuries and health impairment. Protect employees against risks to health or safety arising out of work activities through promoting a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identifies problems areas or activities by carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced (e.g. fire hazard, noise, road safety, fatigue, manual handling, handling hazardous substances, machine guarding or occupational diseases).
- Outlining safe operational procedures for critical hazards to mitigate injuries or harm to employees as well as visitors.
- Carrying out regular site inspections, audits to check HSE Policies and procedures are being effectively implemented.
- Keep records of patrol inspection findings and producing reports that suggest area for improvements.
- Develop changes on day to day working practices that are safe based on best practices and comply with local legislation requirement.
- Lead in-house HSE induction training for new employees about health and safety issues and risks associated with the business.
- Responsible to investigate fatalities or serious injuries, determine root causes and make recommendations for the prevention of recurrence. Monitor and keep records of accidents and producing statistics report for Management Review.
- Being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
- Attend training and seminars related to Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental.
- Producing monthly HSE reports, newsletters and bulletins.
- Ensuring contractors, visitors and guess practice safe working procedures at all times during their stay in company premises.
- Managing and organising the safe disposal of hazardous substances to ensure no environmental pollution.
- To develop, exercise and evaluate emergency response procedure. To liaise with the fire department regarding emergency procedures and fire safety education programs.
Formal Education :
Possesses Bachelor and Diploma in Safety and Health
Experience:
At least 2-3 year(s) of working experience in related field is required for this position.

- Able to work as well as teams’ activities, document in a concise manner.
- Able to present solution in written and oral reports.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Possess an excellent spoken and written English with high initiatives and positive attitude

- Basic knowledge in Malaysia’s Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Law and Legislation
