Job summary

Tokai Engineering, Malaysia, is seeking a Safety Officer to develop and implement safety policies in line with OSH framework and regulations. You will monitor legal requirements, implement Safety Management System initiatives at site and HQ, and proactively identify hazards, assess risks, and apply control measures.

Key duties include ensuring subcontractors comply with SMS, reviewing HIRARC/JHA, maintaining Emergency Response Plan communications, and submitting safety reports to DOSH and HQ

Qualifications

• Valid Yellow Book holder registered with DOSH.
• At least 1 site-based safety experience.
• Familiar with construction/substation safety concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Bahasa.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Able to work in a team.
• Valid driving license.
• Willing to work irregular hours for urgent tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Company in developing safety policies in compliance with OSH FMA and regulations.
• Review and monitor latest legal and other compliance requirements and update accordingly.
• Implement the requirements of the Safety Management System at site and headquarters.
• Identify hazards, assess risks and implement suitable control measures.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with Safety Management System requirements.
• Review all HIRARC and Job Hazard Analysis before execution.
• Maintain Emergency Response Plan information and ensure communication is distributed.
• Conduct site safety inspections and recommend corrective actions for unsafe acts and conditions.
• Submit Monthly Safety Reports, Safety Statistics, and other required documentation to DOSH and HQ.
• Liaise with DOSH, Police and other relevant government agencies on health, safety and security matters.

About you

• Valid Yellow Book holder registered with Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)


• At least 1 working experience at site and/or assignment exposure


• Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for construction/substation/environment for both safety and administration


• Good writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa


• Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time


• Team work capability


• Valid driving license


• Able to work irregular hours to accomplish urgent assignments when requested
